Discussion this week

During the episode, we covered a huge area, including:

  • Why the meaning of the word “love” has deteriorated
  • How love is power, not feeling
  • Difference between mindfulness meditation and loving-kindness meditation
  • Difficulty “returning to love”
  • Why shame is an ineffective motivator
  • Where the effects of meditation actually show (hint: not while meditating)
  • The connection between the stories we tell ourselves and our experiences of love
  • Why is it so hard for us to welcome our own emotions
  • How Loving-Kindness Practice Helps Dissolve Our Feelings of Self and Other
  • How can we (and why should we) have compassion for the people in our lives who have wronged us?
