How to Check If Your Credit Card Information Was Stolen As a Result of a Recent Chipotle Hack

Back in April, Chipotle announced that their payment system had been hacked and a customer’s credit card information could have been stolen. It turns out that this is exactly what happened.

Last Friday, as the country was busy preparing for the long weekend, Chipotle issued a press release identifying the malware responsible for the attack earlier this year and offering customers assistance. How many establishments were attacked is still unknown, and when The Verge asked Chipotle how many restaurants were in use, they did not give exact numbers. However, Chipotle said “most” of its US subsidiaries were affected. Pizzeria Locale, another chain operated by Chipotle, is also affected by this attack. So, if you ate at Chipotle or Pizzeria Locale between March 24, 2017 and April 18, 2017, chances are high that your credit card information has been compromised .

If you want to know which locations near you have been hacked, Chipotle has a tool on this page that will tell you about it . Scroll down the page, select a state, select a city and you will be presented with a list of all Chipotles affected in that area. The restaurant chain also encourages customers to call “888-738-0534 Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm ET” if you have any questions.
