How to Stay Creative When the World Is on Fire?

It’s a little tricky to focus these days. There was more crazy shit going on last night than we could expect in a week (month?), Say 2015. If you have a creative job or hobby, how do you get world events out of your head so you can settle down? and create something awesome? Or do you take the emotions you feel and feed that fear, anger, and sadness into a kind of mental grinder that can turn them into something beautiful?

Avoiding the news is one solution , but escaping reality takes us far. Some of us need news to work; we cannot move away from the media because we are in the media. And if some of the flames of the current flame of the world penetrate your life – say, if you are afraid that you or your loved one will be deported – turning off the news will not change that.

Sounds great, but doesn’t explain how to focus. So, we’d love to hear what you are doing. How do you focus on creative work or acting in this crazy world? Maybe you’ll sit down with your creative tools in the morning before you pick up the phone. Maybe you have a daily routine that helps you awaken your creativity. Perhaps some of these strategies from the good old days are all you need. What is right for you?
