How to Choose a New YouTube Look, Including a New Dark Mode
We showed off a little trick a while back to enable YouTube’s Secret Dark Mode . There is now an official way to choose a new look.
The new look isn’t just about Dark Mode. It is also a completely new design for YouTube. This means that Google is adopting Material Design as presented on other platforms. In this case, the navigation buttons move a little, so you will be doing everything from the navigation bar on the left, and not from the navigation bar and tabs at the top. Otherwise, everything is almost the same as before, although a little more convenient.
All you have to do to enable the new mode is go to youtube.com/new , where you can choose a new design. Once there, click your profile icon (or the three-line icon if you’re not signed in), then click Dark Theme to turn it on. You can also click “Restore YouTube Classic” to revert to the old look if you don’t like the new design.
