Vegans Can Now Drink Guinness, but Only From a Keg

The vegan drinker must lead a life of constant vigilance. While beer and wine themselves rarely contain any animal products or by-products, they are often filtered using isinglass (fish bladders) to remove yeast and other solids. Fortunately, Guinness is moving away from this practice and vegans can now enjoy a pint of robust in the comfort of their favorite pub.

But don’t go to the bottle store just yet. According to Quartz, the only Guinness products that are currently vegan-friendly are Kegs of Guinness Draft (what we call “regular” Guinness), Guinness brewed in Australia, and American pale lager , although there are plans to vegan cans. … and bottles until the end of the year .
