Even a Beginner Can Quickly Create a Bot or App on This Simple New Coding Site.

Whether you are learning to program or are an experienced veterinarian, experimentation is a key part of the learning process. Glitch is a new free programming site that makes this a bit easier by implementing a remix and collaboration system that’s also easy to deploy as a real application.

Glitch projects are mostly created by remixing existing code. This allows users to instantly create their small projects like bots, websites or simple applications. You can also very easily ask for help and collaborate with the rest of the Glitch community. When you ask for help, the Glitch programming environment turns into a Google Docs-style system where friends or strangers can help you troubleshoot or simply add features. What’s more, everything you do is displayed in real time, so you can instantly track bugs or test new features.

At the moment, Glitch only supports Node.js , but it still covers many different types of projects. When you’re done with the project, you can export it from the site to GitHub, or run it on your own site. The whole system is so polished that even a beginner like me can dive into it and start doing stupid things, like a messenger bot that just mimics everything you say. This polish is not a big surprise considering Glitch was created by Fog Creek Software, best known as the team behind Trello. The pedigree is helpful here because Glitch is surprisingly accessible and, dare I say, fun to use. At least it’s great weekend fun if you just want to create a silly little side project.
