Spark for Mac Improves Organization Tools for Better Email Management

Mac: When Spark originally launched on the Mac , it had enough features, but still needed to check a few boxes to convince power users to take a look. In today’s update, they’ve added several new tools to manage your email.

The update adds folder management, support for labels and smart filters. This is all prevalent in other desktop clients, but considering Spark is free and one of the best options, it’s good to see it here.

Shortcuts are some of the favorites for quickly organizing emails, and Spark makes them easy to use. Go to Spark> Preferences> General and check the box next to “Show labels in the list” to enable them.

Folders are arguably a little more common than shortcuts, at least for users outside of Gmail. You can now manage these folders in Spark, choose to display your favorites in the sidebar, and easily add email to the folder by clicking the + icon in the email. We’ve also added a smart folder feature that uses natural language filters such as “Emails from Jane with PDFs” to automatically sort emails into specific folders.

Finally, Spark has received some search improvements as well. You can now use “and” or “or” to narrow your search results, such as “PDF or DOC emails from Jane.” The update is already available in the Mac Store.
