Rest of the Day: PlayStation Vue Now Allows You to Watch Three Channels Simultaneously
If you’re a cord cutter but also obsessed with television, then you are definitely in a unique demographic – and you might want to take a look at PlayStation Vue. Sony’s online TV service just got a new multi-view feature on PS4 that lets you watch three channels of live streaming at once. About this and much more in today’s news.
- Multi-viewing is available on PlayStation 4 from today. I can’t say that I have ever particularly wanted to watch three shows at the same time, but sports fans can certainly take advantage of this feature to follow multiple games. [PlayStation Blog]
- Adobe has added a new HDR capture mode to Lightroom Mobile for iOS and Android. It captures three DNG files at once, offering a much greater dynamic range than your phone’s default HDR mode. You will need a relatively new phone to use this feature, such as the iPhone 6s or Samsung S7, but the results are pretty impressive. Well, the examples of their professional photographers are impressive; my raw HDR selfies leave a lot to be desired. [Adobe]
- TextWrangler, a simple text editor that was an old product for both writers and developers, was killed by its developer. But the good news is that all of TextWrangler’s features are already available in their other app, BBEdit , and you can use the text editing features for free. [Bare Bones Software]
- People are discovering a lot of Nintendo Switch quirks, most notably connectivity issues with wireless Joy-Con controllers (which is why Nintendo warned us last week about playing near aquariums ). Some people try to fix the problem on their own and modify the controllers by adding an additional antenna to enhance the signal. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo ends up redesigning future devices internally. [Kotaku & The Verge]
- But when they work properly, you can connect the Joy-Con to your computer and use them like any Bluetooth gamepad . [TechCrunch]
