If you’ve had hummus or white bean soup, you know they have a mild flavor and creamy texture. Take advantage of these features by adding a little to your next smoothie for more fiber and protein.
It may sound strange, but there are actually tons of smoothie recipes that contain beans. Since I like to cover it, I tried simply replacing the cannellini beans for a banana in my favorite banana and mango smoothie. I could definitely try the beans – other recipes could have masked the flavor better – but they were decent and had a dense, creamy texture.
