This Video Shows You How to Make Your Own DIY Hatchimal Egg.

Sure, the toy itself is cool, but half the fun of Hatchimal is a surprise. This tutorial will show you how to make your own version of Hatchimal out of papier-mâché. Your kids will know the difference, but it’s a fun project nonetheless.

The tutorial is essentially a large papier-mâché egg that you can fill with anything, but the host will show you how to make a fake Hatchimal. You mix papier-mâché made from flour, salt and water, and then use cut strips of magazine to cover up the inflated balloon. Once everything is dry, you can cut open the egg and then start decorating.

The host uses baby hats to make the end product look like a real Hatchimal, but you can really use any surprise. Obviously this isn’t a real deal, but it could be a fun DIY project for parties, gifts, or just something to do for your kids on Sunday afternoon. What’s more, she has a tutorial on Hatchimal edible eggs .
