Use Bacon Instead of Breading for Carb-Free Onion Rings

It is difficult to improve the onion ring, but I dare say that the people at Tastemade did just that. Instead of dipping onion loops in batter and then frying them, they switched to low-carb (and high-tasting) by wrapping them in strips of delicious bacon and baking them .

Watch the video above for all the details, including how to make a delicious dipping sauce, but this two-ingredient appetizer (or side dish) is pretty easy to put together. Simply cut the onion into rings, wrap the bacon around the rings, and secure the pork with a toothpick. (Tastemade also peels them with teriyaki sauce, but I don’t think you need to .) Bake the rings at 300 ℉ for half an hour, remove the toothpicks and enjoy.
