Make a Small DIY Photo Studio With Household Items

If you want to take great photos of small items, be they toys, product shots, or things you want to sell online, it’s pretty easy to set up a small photography studio using only household items.

This video from COOPH shows you what you need to create a small photo studio for small, medium and large objects. As with any photography, it all comes down to controlling the lighting and background at different scales. At the small end, you can make a simple baking paper light diffuser and simply roll up a large piece of paper for a seamless background. You can scale the same basic concept with large rolls of paper, and aluminum foil can act as a reflector in a pinch.

If you want to make the basic flash diffuser a little larger, it should consist of any thin translucent plastic container attached to your camera flash. Watch the video to see how you can use household items to create your own photo studio.
