Plex Gets Alexa Voice Support on All Amazon Devices

If you have an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Fire TV, or other Alexa-enabled device, you can now use your voice to play Plex music, movies, and TV shows.

That’s right, you can now access your entire Plex media library with just the sound of your voice. To set it up, simply ask Alexa on your preferred Amazon device to enable the Plex skill . You will be walked through a quick account linking process and then you can ask her to “open Plex”.

Once the Plex skill is up and running, you can give Alexa commands like “Alexa, tell Plex to play Jurassic Park” , “Alexa, tell Plex to play The Decemberists music”, and if you find it difficult to choose the film “Alexa, ask Plex to suggest something to watch.” You can see this in action in the video above, but here is a complete list of commands .
