Boost Your Online Dating Success With These Five Helpful Profile Tips
Building the perfect online dating profile is tricky and can be quite tricky. If you find it difficult to succeed with your profile, these five tips will get you in the right direction.
In this video from the Consumer Reports YouTube channel, professional online dating coach Laurie Davis Edwards of eFlirt shares her top tips for creating the perfect online dating profile. Here’s what she recommends.
- Change your profile weekly: Regular updates to your profile will optimize your page on the dating site’s search engine. Little things like deleting an old photo and adding a new one can help.
- Use the rule of five by seven photos: Your profile should have at least five photos, but no more than seven. At least two should be decent shots of your head and shoulders. Add at least one full body shot. And for the rest, sprinkle with photos of the activities.
- Be specific about what you are looking for: your profile is not just about you and what you do. You should also let potential partners know what you need to ensure that no one is wasting their time.
- Don’t lie: authenticity is the key to success. Be the best version of yourself and don’t deviate from your values. Lying can lead to a date, but it doesn’t help much in the long run.
- Maximize the number of posts: Viewing profiles and “Likes” won’t do you much. You have to take the plunge and send a lot of messages. Edwards suggests that women send at least 10 messages a week, and men 15.
With a little effort and persistence, you’ll have a lot of dates in no time.
