Quitting Your Job Doesn’t Mean You’re Too Weak to Handle It.

Some of the worst jobs you’ve ever worked will try to tell you, “It must be hard for you to work here!” They will make you think that you are too weak if you want to quit smoking for the sake of your mental health. This is very rarely true.

As Business Site Inc. notes, an unhealthy work environment negatively affects your mental health, whoever you are. While it is true that some jobs are more difficult than others – and even that certain types of individuals are preferred in some jobs – when you decide to quit it is always your choice. Leaving because work is detrimental to your mental health does not mean that you are too weak:

If you want to be physically strong, working out in the gym will likely inspire you to build muscle. Surrounding people who lift weights all day can help you improve. And if the gym offered access to personal trainers and the ability to use the equipment anytime you want, you would probably find it easy to build muscle.

If, however, you worked 14 hours a day in the office, it would be more difficult to get the positive effect. It would be especially difficult if only junk food was served in the workplace canteen and your boss expected you to work from home for hours every night. A workaholic mentality will lead to less ability to lift weights, and you will probably find it much more difficult to get physically strong in such an environment compared to working out in the gym. Well, mental strength is a lot like physical strength. The environment plays a huge role in your ability to build mental muscle.

Of course, on some days it’s easy to feel like working with constant stress is toxic. You shouldn’t quit your job just because you’re having a bad day. However, if your job is trying to tell you that you are not suitable just because you cannot meet unreasonable demands – even if other people do it anyway – you don’t have to go along with it.
