AT&T is taking steps to move beyond the old days of data roaming charges when you travel overseas by offering an international pass for $ 10 a day. It’s cheaper than their previous services, although other operators offer international coverage for free. About this and much more in today’s news.
- The AT&T International Day Pass will be available from January 27th. For longer trips, it might be wiser to get a local SIM or switch to a service with free international roaming, but if you are abroad for a few days this is an easy way to get the service. [AT&T News]

- Sprint has acquired a 33% stake in Tidal, a music streaming service. There aren’t many details yet as to what the partnership might mean for Tidal listeners, but Sprint customers will have access to “exclusive artist content.” [BusinessWire]
- Lavabit is back. Lavabit is a security-focused email service used by Edward Snowden that shut down abruptly in 2013 after federal investigators requested their encryption keys . - Put down the beer! There could be shards of glass in it. Sierra Nevada has recalled eight of its beers in 36 states due to a packaging defect that could break glass on a bottle. [Gizmodo]
