Wi-Fi Speeds at 20 US Airport Hosts

The wifi at the airport does not work. Whether you need to do something while you wait at the gate, or just want to know what to expect before your next flight, Speedtest has rated US airports with the fastest Wi-Fi.

They looked at the most popular airports in the United States by number of landings and used data from the last three months of 2016. They also shared upload speed and upload speed. As you can see in the graph above, the ranges are very different for both categories.

Overall, Denver (DEN) showed the best overall speeds of over 60 Mbps for both download and upload. Rounding out the top five are Philadelphia (PHL), Seattle-Tacoma (SEA), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Miami (MIA). Dallas had the fastest download speeds at nearly 80 Mbps, but their downloads hovered at just over 30 Mbps. Speedtest explained how big numbers can be:

From a dismal 2.71Mbps download speed over Wi-Fi in Atlanta to a Denver average of 61.74, you may be faced with the difference between playing audio only and actually distracting your tired travel companions by watching a high-definition movie.
