What Kind of “high Quality” Purchases Do You Regret?

Sometimes it makes sense to spend a little more money on something if it makes your life easier , saves time, or lasts for years. And sometimes buying quality or spending money on an “investment piece” is a waste of money. What items have you purchased whose quality you regret?

There is definitely a reason to buy quality. If you buy a pair of $ 100 boots, then over time you can spend less than a pair of $ 20 boots that need to be replaced annually. However, sometimes buying quality is just an excuse to spend money on unnecessary items. Also, just because something is expensive doesn’t necessarily mean it is well made. I wrote about a few of my own “buyable quality” or “investment item” regrets, including expensive tees that lasted just as long as cheaper ones. Do you have any regrets of your own about spending on “quality shopping”?

If you’ve ever overspend on quality and regretted it, tell us about it. What did you buy and why was it not worth it? If you like, you can also share your lessons learned and tell us what guidelines you are using now to understand when it makes sense to buy quality.
