The Best Time of the Year to Buy Olive Oil

Good olive oil is usually quite expensive ( but not always ). If you want to get the most bang for your buck, now is a good time to buy a new bottle.

If you’ve consumed the same bottle of olive oil for a long time, you probably don’t have the freshest taste. “Early winter is a good time to replace old bottles,” says Epicurious. This is because olives are usually harvested in the fall and bottled after a few weeks. They explain:

Your oil will not only be fresh – it will be amazing. The sooner you buy the extra virgin olive oil, the fresher the oil will taste – not just delicious, but imbued with all the distinctive aromas of freshly harvested olives.

More specifically, grocery site Zester Daily reports that the “olive oil season ” runs from October to December, but late winter is still a good time to shop. If you’re buying an expensive bottle, we’ve told you how to make sure you’re getting the real deal . Apart from this, Epicurious also offers its own specific recommendations at the link below.
