The folks at Make Magazine told us all of this along with dozens of plans inspired by home folk musicians from the late 1800s to the late 20th century. There are many plans for homemade string instruments, simple washboards, drum kits, and more, as well as a store where you can buy some of the more niche parts, amplifiers, and other tools you might need if you’re starting out entirely with scratching. It also helps that there is a thriving community there too, willing to take on more if more people are interested in DIY tools.
