Enhance Your Edible Gifts With These Little Extras
Homemade edible gifts can be a lot of fun giving and receiving (and eating), but handing someone a jar of jam can feel a little dull. To increase the wow factor, include a thoughtful accessory.
It doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive, but a little extra can make a gift that much more thoughtful. Food52 has some great ideas to get you started:
- If you want to make homemade jams and preserves, use a fancy wooden spreader or a nice loaf of bread.
- If you’re making your own butter (or compound butter), shape it into a nice roll and serve in a cute oiler or oiler.
- For gift givers, gift a pair of nice (or kitsch) glasses to inspire them to share.
Apart from these suggestions, I have a few of my own:
- If you prefer homemade cookies, wrap them in a pretty kitchen towel and tie a cute recipe card to the package.
- Fancy flavored salts are always a fun gift, but will be even more welcome when added to delicious corn.
- Prepare chunks of hot chocolate , wrap them in holiday plastic wrap, and present them in a classroom mug. (This is my all-time favorite if you’re looking for mug options.)
This extra little touch will take your edible gift to a more personal place, making its mark without costing you a ton.
