Differences Between Pull-Ups and Pull-Ups
Pulls and pulls are great bodyweight strength exercises, but they are not the same thing. People tend to use them interchangeably, but the differences are quite noticeable that you shouldn’t mix them together.
Both exercises look the same and target the upper back and biceps, but they differ in how these core muscles are worked and the grip used.
- Pull-up: In a pull-up, you use a grip from above (usually with the palms facing forward). There is more emphasis on using the lats to get up, which is usually more difficult for people.
- Pull-ups: Pull- ups use a bottom grip (both palms facing you ) and focus more on the biceps. Most people find it easier to pull up.
These differences don’t necessarily make one better than the other – you’re just training your upper back (lats) differently, and if you alternate them, it also allows you to work out different parts of those same muscles evenly. If you feel pain in your elbow, you may feel less pain if you switch to a neutral grip (palms facing each other) .
