Comprehensive Checklist for Buying a Used Car

A used car can be a bad deal if you don’t know what you are doing. Fortunately, Popular Mechanics has put together a comprehensive checklist to help buyers of used cars close the bargain .

The checklist is a two-page PDF that you can download for free from the link below. In the checklist, questions are marked in four colors: green (frivolous), yellow (cause for concern), red (serious problem), and blue (breach of a deal). After you walk through the checklist, count your greens, yellows, and reds. Compare the numbers to the scorecard at the end to see if the car is worth your time and money.

Popular Mechanics has some more tips on how to inspect your car that might be worth reading.
