Get Energized With This 30 Second Breathing Exercise

Whether you’re skipping caffeine to sleep better or having trouble waking up, this fast breathing exercise boosts your energy and helps your brain wake up. Try it in the morning or even at noon when you start to pull a little.

If you are doing this in the office to overcome the lull in the middle of the day, find a quiet place, such as in a stairwell or in an unused corner. Place your hands gently at your sides, stand up straight and close your eyes. Inhale deeply through your nose and raise your arms above your head. Take in as deep a breath as possible, try to feel how the chest expands. Exhale completely and lower your arms. Repeat for 30 seconds. As shown in the video above, you can do this exercise for longer, but 30 seconds will give you the desired effect if you are short on time or privacy.
