Store Peanut Butter, Tahini, and Other Nut Butters Upside Down for Easy Spreading

We mentioned earlier that keeping the peanut butter on the side is one way to make it easier to spread and avoid separating it, but an easier trick is to keep it upside down to keep it from separating.

As with curd , keeping natural nut butter upside down means you spend less effort mixing it when you want to use it. The butter, which usually peels off to the top of the can, passes through the nut butter, leaving a creamy, tasty paste. Make sure you close the lid tightly, otherwise oil may leak out of the can.
