Help Make Your Bike Wintery With a Few Simple Tweaks

Winter is just around the corner, and if you’re cycling or just don’t let the cold weather spoil your enjoyment, there are a few things you can do to make cycling less awful. The Global Cycling Network gives you some tips in the video above.

Their recommendations include using a wet lubricant on your chain, re-lubricating the headset bearings, and applying bicycle wax to the frame (if you care about painting). A sturdy wing is also helpful if you plan on going outside in wet weather, as it’s good light as it tends to get darker during the winter months. However, the main suggestion that no one wants to hear is that you will need to clean your bike after almost every wet ride. Every bike, city and winter conditions are slightly different, so your needs will be different, but as a starting point, the Global Cycling Network’s advice should help.
