This Page Allows You to Disable Many of the Google Activity Tracking Features

Google tracks a lot of your data. If you’re comfortable with it, it might make your life a little easier. If it isn’t, it can be difficult to figure out how to turn it off. Fortunately, there is one settings page where you can turn off many of them.

Earlier this year, Google created a timeline of your activities, which you can browse to see what the company knows about you and remove it if you wish . However, this only processes data that Google already has. If you want it to not receive this data at all, follow these steps:

  1. Follow this link to find your My Activities page.
  2. Click the menu button (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Click Action Controls.

Here you can view various types of Google tracking, including internet activity, location history, voice recordings, and YouTube history. You can disable as many of them as you like. Keep in mind that this could mean that you will lose some Google functionality (for example, disabling voice recording will likely remove Ok, Google from your phone ), but you can rest a bit knowing that data is not tied to your account. records. This is not an ideal solution as Google can still collect anonymous data, but at least it won’t be tied to your name.
