Opera’s Free VPN Built Right Into the Browser Is Available to Everyone

Windows / Mac / Linux: Opera launched its own free built-in VPN a few months ago, but you could only get it if you manually enabled it in the dev version of the browser . It is now available to everyone in the stable version of Opera.

If you want to use Opera VPN, you still need to enable it in the settings, but this option should be available to everyone, no matter which version of Opera you are using. To enable it, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Preferences (Preferences on Mac).
  2. Click on “Privacy & Security”.
  3. Turn on VPN.

After that, the “VPN” icon will appear in the browser to the left of the address field. Here you can choose where you want to spawn from, or temporarily disable the VPN when you need to.
