Identify Safe Galaxy Note 7 After Call by Green Battery Light

If you somehow missed this news, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is being recalled due to an unfortunate incident where the battery sometimes exploded . However, if you’re buying a used one, you can find out if it’s safe by looking at the green battery indicator.

To indicate a phone that Samsung deems safe and free from the defects that sometimes caused batteries to explode, the company changed the battery indicator in the status bar to green. Just boot up your phone and look at the status bar. If the battery indicator is white, do not purchase the phone or return it to Samsung for a replacement.

If you have the packaging that the device was shipped in, you can also identify a safe replacement if the sticker has a black square with multiple barcodes on it. You can check SlashGear’s post below for more information on how to identify a revoked device or safe.
