The Cheapest Way to Protect Your Camera From Rain

You’ve probably guessed that a plastic bag can protect your DSLR from rain or snow. But there is a proper way to use it, as photographer Benjamin Yavorsky shows in the video above.

All you need is a plastic bag, an elastic band, and a lens hood. Make sure you are using a bag that is large enough to completely cover the lens and camera.

Attach the lens hood first. Then slide the lens bag onto the camera. Place a rubber band over the lens hood to hold the bag securely in place. Cut a hole in the lens and put the bag back.

It’s very simple, as you can see in the video above. Yavorsky also shows how to add a hole for the viewfinder. But if not, you too can stick your head in the bag to see the monitor. Whatever you do, always carry a plastic bag with you to travel safely with your DSLR .
