Make a Fast and Cheap Carton Box Meat Smoker

Want to try a barbecue but don’t want to fork out for a meat smoker? You can make a relatively decent smoker with just a cardboard box. Of course, it won’t be as effective as a real deal, but it’s a fun experiment.

In the video, Cook With Meat quickly assembles a homemade meat smoker with a cardboard box to keep out the smoke and heat. (The main drawback here – aside from being flammable! – is that it will be difficult to heat it up enough to cook the meat, but if nothing else, you can use it to add a smoky flavor before you finish cooking elsewhere.) He’s cooking. holes in the bottom of the ventilation box, adds a toilet paper roll chimney and hanging rod, and then uses a burning pallet of sawdust as a source of smoke. Here you can see him smoking fish .

Others have tried their hand at making an incense burner out of a cardboard box, and one Instructables member has had surprisingly good results . They actually used the hotplate as a heat source, covered it with a pan full of wood shavings, and ended up finishing the meat in a conventional oven. And, obviously, this should only be done outdoors!
