Make the Most of Your Kitchen Window With This DIY Hanging Herb Garden

If you have a herb garden in your kitchen, they are easy to grab when you want to add them to a dish or drink. If you don’t have much rack space, this grid uses your window to give you a complete herb garden.

You will need one inch wide tube, rack mounts, buckets or other pots with handles, and your herbs. Take a pipe the same width as your window (minus ⅛ to an inch for fixing). If you need a pipe, you can order it from your local hardware store or home improvement store when you buy it.

Attach the brackets to the joists on the sides of the window, leaving enough space between them to hang the buckets. Plant the herbs in buckets or pots and hang them neatly from the pipe, then set them on the rods. If you don’t want to punch holes in the wall for mounting, you can also use a curtain or shower bar (like this one from Amazon), but be careful not to overload it with too much weight.
