Remove Metal Shavings With a Magnet Inside a Plastic Bag

Working with metal can result in tiny, hard to see chips and debris all over the place. This clever trick will make it easier to collect them so that no one gets a metal shard.

In this video from Average Joes Joinery’s YouTube channel, Joe shows you his own method of collecting tiny metal shavings. Just stick a powerful magnet or stack of disc magnets into a plastic bag and start collecting all the shavings. Walk around your tools, workbenches, tables and don’t forget about all the cracks and crevices that you have around. When all the shavings have been collected and stuck to the bag, turn it inside out, remove the magnets, and discard the shaved bag in the trash.
