Chrome: The Speedtest website has long been a popular method for quickly testing load speed, but if you find yourself doing it often, you may want a more affordable solution. The Speedtest Chrome extension does just that.
The extension does pretty much exactly what you’d expect, it stuffs Speedtest.net into your Omnibar. However, the extension is useful for a number of reasons. First, you don’t have to stop there to check your download speed. Secondly, it shows the load time of the website you are currently browsing, which is helpful in troubleshooting. As an added bonus, this is all ad-free, which in itself can pay for itself compared to the main site.
