See If Evolving Pokémon in Pokémon Go Is Worth It With This CP Calculator

It takes a lot of candy to develop a Pokémon in Pokémon Go , so you need to make sure you don’t waste it. If you’re not sure if developing a Pokémon you’ve caught is worth it, this calculator can give you a pretty accurate estimate of how strong it can get.

A calculator from PoGoToolkit.com prompts you to select a Pokemon and then enter the CP (Combat Strength) it currently has. As soon as you hit Evolve, you will see the maximum potential before turning on. Here’s an example:

You will catch Abra with a CP of 400. If you transform him into a Kadabra, he could potentially have 544-780 CP with a variance of 1.36-1.95. This Kadabra can transform into Alakazam with 761-1287 CP with a variance of 1.4-1.65. Abra with CP 350 will only be 476-682 and 666-1125 respectively.

You can never know the exact CP a Pokémon will have when it develops, but this calculator can give you a pretty good idea. As you can see, even a 50 CP gap can make a big difference when it comes to development and will save you some Stardust and Candy. There are other factors to consider when choosing a Pokémon to develop, but CP is one of the easiest to understand and use to your advantage. Check out the calculator yourself using the link below.

Update: This tool only calculates CP for Tier 1 Pokémon. For Tier 2 Pokémon, you have to take a few extra steps. For example: Enter CP for a Level 1 Pokemon until you get a CP range that matches your Level 2, then you can see the expected CP for your Level 3 Evolution.
