Google Dialer App Now Alerts You When Spammers Call You
Android: Google seems to be as tired of robot calls as you are. The company just announced that the built-in phone app on Nexus phones will give you a big red alert when a spammer calls you.
In the new version, if the phone number that is calling you matches a known spammer, the application will display a large red box (instead of the usual blue) with a warning that reads: “Suspected spammer.” You can still answer it if you want, but you have been warned. Unfortunately, the Phone app is only supported on Nexus devices, select Google Play Edition phones, and Android One phones, but if you’re in any of those categories, you can download the new update now.
