Tinder’s New Social Feature Makes It Easier to Organize Group Dates

Spend the night with your friends? Tinder’s new feature, Tinder Social, makes it easy to connect with other groups and paint the city red together.

This feature works just like regular Tinder, but you’re hoping to meet a group of people rather than just one person. It was originally tested in Australia, but after success there, it is now available in the US and some other select countries. If you think this sounds fun, turn on Tinder Social (a prompt should appear as soon as you update and open the app), invite friends who want to join your group (they must be on Tinder and also turn on Tinder Social.), Then swipe as usual until you find another group nearby, which also disappears. When you find a match, you’ll be taken to the group chat to make plans that work for everyone.

Matches will run until noon the next day. After that, your group will expire and you will have to start from scratch. It’s worth noting, however, that enabling Tinder Social makes you visible to other Facebook friends who have Tinder Social enabled. If you’re trying to use Tinder discreetly, it’s best to avoid Tinder Social.
