Enhance the Flavor of Canned Beans by Boiling Them in Olive Oil
Canned beans are handy, but can be a little dull. To turn these simple Jane beans into something sexier, simply simmer them in good olive oil for a few minutes.
This advice comes from the book Tamar Adler ” Eternal food “, gives a mild flavor of the beans and improves their texture to a cream color. Just drain the beans, pour them into a saucepan, and add a good amount of delicious olive oil. Add aromatics if desired and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes. When they’re done, they can be spooned onto buttery toast, added to a simple paste, or eaten by themselves from a bowl.
