Your Starbucks Coffee Is About to Get More Expensive

If you’re a Starbucks fan, you can expect to pay a little more for coffee next week. On July 12, the company plans to raise prices.

Starbucks announced the change after it prematurely rolled out the boost, inadvertently charging some customers an additional fee prior to rollout. Here’s what they said in the press release:

On July 12, Starbucks is planning a slight price hike on certain drinks. Unfortunately, this price adjustment was prematurely introduced into the point-of-sale system of our American brand stores. As a result, incorrect payments were made from some clients. The maximum overpayment for any customer is 30 cents per drink.

The bug has been fixed and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience. If a customer believes this error has affected the price of their drink, we recommend that they contact Starbucks Customer Service at 1-800-782-7282 and we will happily fix it.

They do not indicate which drinks will be more expensive, and do not indicate the amount, but based on the error, we can probably expect an increase to 30 cents. They raised prices by 5-20 cents last year.
