Cook Ketchup on a Set-and-Forget Basis in a Multicooker

If you’re tired of the same ketchup that comes in a plastic bottle, you can make it at home with a minimum of effort and cooking skills.

Kelly Foster of The Kitchn has a very easy way to make her batch of American staple . You will need canned chopped tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, celery seeds, peppers, allspice, and some brown sugar. Just toss all the ingredients in a slow cooker, then set on the minimum and let sit for six to seven hours. When done, blend it with the hand blender to the desired texture, let it cool and it’s ready to dip. Best of all, you can add your own spices and season it however you like. Curry powder, chipotle chili peppers, fresh ginger, and even honey-infused sriracha can add something special to your ketchup.
