Make a Fruity Whipping Cream With Tangy Cherry Pits

If you’re going to lay out the cherries for a bake or snack, don’t throw them away. They can be used to make delicious cherry-flavored whipping cream.

Cherry pits, while inedible and poisonous , are still covered in many healthy cherry bits and juice. Rather than throwing them away, Serious Eats’ Stella Sparks recommends using these cherry gifts. Take the remaining cherry pits and toss them into the glass of cream. Place the cup in the refrigerator overnight, then strain the cream into a bowl with a little sugar and whisk. Sparks suggests you also add some kirsch or rosewater to the mix to add some color if you like.
