VLC for Android Gets Picture-in-Picture Support, Video Playlists and More

Android: The Android version of VLC got a big update today, adding a bunch of new features, including picture-in-picture mode for tablets, playlists for videos, and more.

The first thing you’ll notice is the updated permission profile. VLC no longer needs access to most of your Android device and can now work by accessing only media files. On top of that, you also get a new web browsing mode for finding local servers, built-in subtitle downloads, video playlists, pop-up support for picture-in-picture viewing, and a new history view.
