Sure, there is already fish in the tuna salad, but Daniel Gritzer of Serious Eats recommends that you increase the fish ratio for a truly memorable dish. Throw in some healthy Asian fish sauce or very finely chopped anchovy for a deliciously tangy flavor, leaving the fishy flavor to the sauce to disappear into the tuna mix. This trick even works with canned tuna to enhance its flavor. Some people add Worcestershire sauce and it certainly helps with some umami, but better with fish sauce or anchovies.
