Google Will Start Showing Direct Answers When You Search for Medical Symptoms

While it’s almost never a good idea to search for medical symptoms on the Internet , Google at least simplifies the process on mobile by giving you direct answers to the symptoms you’re looking for.

The new direct answers will work in the same way as when looking for medical conditions. Enter, say, “swollen joints,” and Google will theoretically point you to arthritis. Basically, the goal is to make it a little easier to find symptoms and at least try to filter the professional advice from Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic to the top of the results. This feature will launch on mobile devices in the next few days. Sure, there are better ways to get health information online , but we are all now Google is the first place most people go.
