RecycleHealth Helps You Donate Your Old Fitness Tracker

Fitness trackers can help you reach your goals if you plan to stay motivated … and if you can afford it in the first place. RecycleHealth, a program based at Tufts University , is collecting donated trackers to help with the other half of that equation.

“What if those who bought the least or allowed themselves to carry wearables actually benefited the most from their use?” the group asks . If you are bored, or tracker, he liked you so much that you have already upgraded to a newer version, you can donate to the one that collects the dust, sending it by mail to the RecycleHealth without postage . There are also drop-off points in New York and Boston.

Donated trackers are not just given away, although this is possible in the future. For now, RecycleHealth is providing them to researchers who are trying to find out if tracker-based fitness programs can help, for example, low-income seniors or veterans with mental health problems.
