Microsoft’s Official Guide to DIY, Raspberry Pi-Based Magic Mirror With Facial Recognition
Smart mirrors have been all the rage this year, and it looks like Microsoft is getting into the game too. While Microsoft’s mirror is teased as a commercial product, they’ve released source code if you’re interested in making it for yourself.
As you’d expect, the mirror uses Windows 10 running on a Raspberry 2 or 3. As with other DIY options , it just includes a two-way mirror with a monitor attached to the back. A real kicker that differentiates this from face recognition software. Once you get it up and running, the mirror can display different information depending on who is in front of it. This is a complex project and not well documented by Microsoft, but if you are good with Visual Studio, you will find everything you need on GitHub.
