This Graph Shows How the Average American Spends Every Hour of the Day.
If you’ve ever looked at someone’s life and wondered how they do so many things during the day, you can finally get an answer. This graph shows how the average American spends every single hour of the day.
Chart from data analysis and credit rating company Experian uses data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to compile a detailed view of how Americans spend their time in twenty-four separate charts. Each of them shows activities such as sleeping, eating and drinking, doing housework, working and watching TV. The graphs then show what percentage of Americans perform each activity during a specific hour of the day. For example, it should come as no surprise that 95.1% of people sleep at 3 a.m. while TV peaks at 9 p.m., with 35% of people tune in during prime time. However, sleepers also peak around 9:00 pm, which may explain how early risers feel so rested. They slept earlier than anyone else, turned off their televisions and went to bed earlier than the rest of us.
