Simplify the Slicing of Frozen Dessert by Placing It on a Warm Kitchen Towel

Frozen tarts and ice cream cakes stick to whatever they are resting on and can be difficult to cut. A warm tea towel will make your frozen dessert a little less like an ice cube.

In a recent issue of food magazine Lucky Peach, Nicole Rucker shares a tip that anyone can use when serving frozen dessert. Soak a tea towel in very hot water, spread it out, place it on the table, and place the dessert on top of the towel. The towel will keep the dessert from slipping while you cut it, and the heat will free the dessert from the bottom of your plate or baking tray. It is also helpful to use a hot, damp knife when slicing.
