“There Is No Right Way to Do Something.”

If you do it yourself, be it woodworking, 3D printing, electronics or whatever, it’s very easy to get bogged down in following a tutorial or guide. Artist Keith Harman sometimes reminds us to risk getting out of this path.

Make Magazine recently compiled a series of tips from a wide variety of artisans, but the one I liked the most was Harman’s quote:

There is no right way to do something. While tutorials and DIY kits are great, creation ultimately involves experimentation, innovation, and combining tools and techniques from different disciplines to achieve new and exciting things!
