Google Photos Adds More User-Friendly Search, Movie Editing Options, and More

One of the best things about Google Photos is that it’s easy to find a photo using search, but today the service has made it easy to find the exact photo you’re looking for. They’ve also added editing tools for auto-generated Google Movies that let you use your own music, add photos to them, and more.

From Google Photos Team, Google+ post:

The latest Google Photos update is out now to help you find your photos faster with the new search bar. Start your search with one tap or scroll down after clicking on the search bar to see faces, places and types of photos from your library.

Plus, Google Photos now offers the ability to customize auto-generated movies with your own music, photos, and videos, so making the perfect video after your vacation or trip is easier than ever. It’s also perfect for Mother’s Day, which you knew is approaching May 8th, right?

This is somewhat similar to the same search we know and love on Google Photos, but in addition to the regular search bar, now when you click on the search bar, you can type and search for something, or see certain faces that you often photograph. or select specific media types (such as videos, movies, or animations) to search.

The new search tool even suggests specific places you’ve been to recently, so you can jump straight to all the photos taken at that location.

In addition to the search updates, Google’s auto-generated movie summaries are always great, but you could only choose the music they suggested and you couldn’t edit them – you can now use your own music in these short movies and insert photos from other trips or add pictures from the same trip that Google didn’t think to include. In general, not bad improvements.

The update is distributed to all users, so stay tuned for the latest version for your device. Follow the link below to read the full announcement.
